Invention

The Airway CQI form is a data collection form used to track intubation practices performed in the Emergency Department at the University of Arizona Medical Center.  The purpose of the form is to collect pertinent data on emergency intubation activities and use the data as a CQI tool to improve the care delivered to patients.

Background

When dealing with medical practices, patient care quality is important and it always needs to be evaluated and re-evaluated.  Video laryngoscopes such as the C-MAC and GlideScope are becoming more common, but information on their use is lacking.  With these devices being used in intubation practices every day, it is important to analyze the use of these tools to ensure that patients are receiving improved quality of care.

Applications

Any care provider that provides intubation services.
