Invention: The invention is antimicrobial edible films made from apples, carrots, and hibiscus calyces.

 

Background: These natural ingredients are recognized on FDA’s Generally Recognized as Safe list

and contain numerous nutritional benefit. These edible films can be placed in salad bags, releasing carvacrol and cinnamaldehyde vapors.
