Title: UniDec Add On: Universal Deconvulation of Mass and Ion Mobility Spectra-Additional Ion Mobility Calibrations

 

Invention: This is an improvement to the UniDec mass spectrometry software code, which is an incremental improvement that enables the calculation of Collision cross section (CCS) using different types of calibration of ion mobility.

 

Background: UniDec is a spectrometry software package for deconvolution of mass and ion mobility. It uses Bayesian techniques to measure mass and charge information, identifies peak assignment and uses fitting techniques, which project good estimates of basic model figure. To improve the speed and accuracy of these measurements, the improvement to the software uses linear and power law calibrations to convert mass-charge ratios to determine collision cross sections. This provides greater detail and more precise calibration of ion mobility.

 

Applications:

  • Deconvolution of both simple and complex nanoelectrospray mass spectra of proteins
  • To enable the quantitative interpretation of mass spectra from small proteins to heterogenous nanodisc assemblies
  • Extraction of biophysical quantities including rate constants and binding affinities

  • Provides a faster and more accurate depiction of ion mobility
