The present invention provides a device that attaches to the top of an NMR spectrometer, typically a benchtop instrument.  The device of the invention guides the NMR sample tube in such a way that it effectively reduces the risk or the possibility to break the NMR sample tube when any part of that tube is inside the instrument. The device is simple and easy to understand and use.  Device of the invention has no moving parts and accommodates an NMR sample tube for a benchtop NMR Instrument.
