Title: Higher Power Novel Laser Beam Generation in a T-Cavity VECSEL

 

Invention: This technology is a novel design for generating tunable, high-power, on-demand laser beams with a selectable output mode.  The design allows control of the transverse mode independently of the wavelength tunability, which allows them to have diverse beams at high powers.

 

Background: Laser beams play a key role in quantum communications. Significant interests include the ability to have a high power and large range of wavelengths that can be used in a variety of applications.

 

Applications:

  • Generation of space-time novel laser pulses
  • Optical trapping
  • Optical tweezers
  • New dimension for multiplexing

 

Advantages:

  • Generates tunable, high-power, on-demand laser beams
  • Allows the user to control the mode and power of a beam
