Title: Dihydrotetrazine Antioxidants and Free Radical Reaction Inhibitors

 

Invention: The invention is the use of dihydrotetrazines as antioxidants to eliminate free radicals. Dihydrotetrazines were found to be superior to dihydropyridazines or hindered phenols in inhibiting free radical polymerization.

 

Background: Dihydrotetrazines donate up to two hydrogen atoms to terminate radical chain or oxidation ractions. These compounds can be prepared in the synthesis of tetrazines or by hydrogenation or reduction reactions.

  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Fuel

 

Advantages:

  • Can serve as an alternative antioxidant agent
  • Increases efficacy
