Title: UA Travel - Integrated Travel Registry, Risk Management, and University Data Interoperability Solution

Invention: This system provides University of Arizona faculty, students, and staff a user-friendly travel registration process by automating elements of risk assessment in real-time, facilitating the financial aspects of travel reimbursement, and ensuring compliance across areas of liability.

Background: Many institutions of higher education do not have the ability to integrate their systems with various other third party systems to provide the end-user with travel information. Travel software that seamlessly integrates with a university’s own systems in real-time has increased value because it simplifies an otherwise complex process and provides the end-user with up-to-date and relevant information.

Applications:

  • Tracks travel itineraries with real-time threat data
  • Potential to serve as a core technology that connects to other University of Arizona systems due to its interoperability

Advantages:

  • Integrates seamlessly with University of Arizona systems
  • Serves an unmet need at many other higher education institutions
