An Efficient And Improved Chemical Conversion Of The Natural Product Physachenolide D (LG-01) To Its Analogue LG-134 With Potent Anticancer Activity

Case ID:
UA19-175
Invention:

Invention:

An improved process of chemical conversion of the natural plant product physachenolide D (PCD) to a C-18 analogue (LG-134) of physachenolide C (PCC).

Background:

The standard yield of LG-134 using current methods is relatively low at 1/3 resultant from original products. This method allows for the yield to be double current chemical processes. LG-134 is especially important due to its potent anticancer activity against prostate cancer and melanoma

Applications:

•       Chemical yield of LG-134

Advantages:

•       More efficient

•       Yield from starting material is doubled compared to previous methods.
